The UFC Fight Night St. Louis weigh-ins have concluded this morning and the fight card has taken a major hit, losing two of it’s most intriguing matchups.
Two fighters did not make it to the scales, and one who did missed weight by a staggering four pounds.
Uriah Hall was unable to make it to the scales this morning, as a result the scheduled co-main event against Vitor Belfort has been scrapped. Belfort was scheduled to retire on Sunday, following a storied MMA career and multiple championship run.
The highly anticipated return of Thiago Alves will also have to wait, as his opponent also did not make it to the scales following a bad weight cut that got the fighter injured on Friday night.
The UFC will not look to replace either fighter to salvage the card, and both fights are officially off.
In other weigh in action, show opener Mads Burnell missed weight by four pounds. His fight however will go on as planned, but as a catchweight and the fighter has lost 20% of his fight purse as a result.
Luckily, all other fighters made weight, and despite losing some very compelling fights, there’s still some reason to tune in to the rare Sunday night UFC event.
