It looks like the rumors of CM Punk’s return at UFC 225 were true and accurate, as one of the former WWE star’s coaches has revealed what’s next.
CM Punk famously made his UFC debut over a year ago at UFC 203, in a losing effort to Mickey Gall that saw the pro-wrestler thoroughly dominated in the first round. CM Punk landed not a single punch in his UFC debut.
Now, if we are to believe the latest twitter release from one of CM’s coaches, he will face the 0-1 ranked MMA Journalist Mike “The Truth” Jackson.
Jackson and CM Punk were long rumored to be the original fight. To his credit, Jackson’s only pro MMA fight also came in the UFC, while the promotion was courting opponents for CM Punk. Had he won his debut bout he would have faced off with the pro-wrestling legend.
Ido Portal, infamously known as Conor McGregor’s touch butt coach revealed the news today on twitter. Apparently he’ll be working with CM Punk ahead of his return to the cage, and decided to break the news himself.

UFC 225 goes down on June 9, from the United Center, in Chicago.
The UFC has yet to officially announce this bout, we will update when the UFC makes it 100% official, though there is no indication that Ido Portal would fabricate a fight announcement.
