Showtime Boxing President Stephen Espinoza holds the exclusive rights to Floyd Mayweather’s boxing career, and now he’s revealing that a move to MMA for Floyd Mayweather is more of a reality than people think.
Conor’s favorite “Weasel” has come out of the woodwork to confirm that the boxing legend is heavily considering a shift in sport, and that these recent videos of Floyd in a cage are not just troll jobs.
Espinoza is a credible source, who sites Showtime’s publicly traded status as his reasons for not being able to lie about official Showtime business. And now, he’s talking MMA and Floyd Mayweather.
In a new interview with TMZ sports, Espinoza broke down what’s going on with Floyd’s intention to cross over and how the two are presently working on it, as Espinoza said the two are meeting to discuss the move.
“[A move to MMA] will be a topic of conversation (when the two meet in the coming days). There’s a chance … whatever he puts his mind to, he sort of wills into happening. [Floyd] willed the McGregor fight into happening. So, if he sets his mind to it, it’ll happen.”
“He’s not an eight figure guy anymore. He’s a nine figure guy.”
Music to McGregor’s ears, unless of course Showtime will look to revamp their old ambitions into MMA.
The promotion once held the broadcasting rights to Strikeforce, before the UFC bought it out.
