Undefeated pugilist legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been hinting to a possible run inside the octagon. Now Floyd Mayweather Sr., the boxer’s father, has come forward to claim that he believes “Money” Mayweather is headed to the UFC.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. pulled himself out of retirement to face off inside the squared circle for one final match in 2017. The undefeated boxer went toe-to-toe with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, ultimately earning a TKO victory over “Notorious” in the tenth round.
“Money” Mayweather slipped back into retirement directly after defeating McGregor. But, the boxing legend has since been hinting to a possible run inside the octagon.
Speaking to Amer Abdallah of Mayweather Boxing Promotions, Floyd Mayweather Sr. offered his thoughts on the situation. When asked if he believes “Money” Mayweather is dedicated to training for an octagon debut, Mayweather Sr. said “I have to believe that this is the way it is going.”
Abdallah then doubled down and asked if “Money” Mayweather is determined to get into the sport of mixed martial arts. Mayweather Sr. replied, “The way it looks, I think so.”
