Apparently, the UFC has warned their athletes on the potential motives of a recently formed fighter’s union.
Athletes from the world’s largest Mixed Martial Arts promotion have long toyed with the idea of a move towards unionizing, in order to demand fair wages for the efforts inside the UFC’s Octagon.
Most recently a movement called Project Spearhead was launched by UFC female fighter Leslie Smith. She’s gaining momentum more than any other unionizing effort in the pat, and even Al Iaquinta is now holding an executive seat on the board.
Now, a letter from the UFC has been leaked, and it likely should not have been, warning all their athletes that a recently popped up union is actually backed by the promotion’s longtime rival in the Las Vegas Culinary union.
