Josh Emmett To Appeal Controversial Loss To Jeremy Stephens, Following Illegal Shots

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Orlando, Fla. on Saturday night, Feb. 24, for the promotion’s most recent fight card. UFC on FOX 28 took place inside the Amway Center, offering fight fans a night full of entertaining match ups.

Headlining the night’s card, Team Alpha Male’s Josh Emmett went toe-to-toe with Alliance MMA’s Jeremy Stephens. Stephens ultimately earned a knockout victory over his opponent, but the finish has since come under some controversy.

Stephens finished his opponent with a series of strikes, including a potentially illegal strike to the head with a knee and a collection of potentially illegal elbows to the head. As a result, it would appear that Josh Emmett is now planning to appeal the knockout loss.

Mixed martial arts reporter Ariel Helwani recently reported that Emmett “absolutely” planning to appeal the loss.
