Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold took a shot at the interim title over the weekend. Unfortunately, things did not go the fighter’s way. Now American Kickboxing Academy teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov has come forward with a few words for Rockhold.
Luke Rockhold faced off against tough contender Yoel Romero for the main event of UFC 221. Romero missed weight for the match up, making the fighter ineligible for the interim title.
However, Rockhold was still in the running for the belt. None the less, Yoel Romero earned a knockout victory over his opponent in the third round.
Taking to Instagram, UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov has now come forward with a message for Rockhold.
“You will always be the best for us.” Nurmagomedov stated.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is now gearing up to face off against interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson for the undisputed title. The two mixed martial arts warriors will face off at UFC 223.
The event will take place April 7 inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. UFC 223 will be available live on pay-per-view.
