The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted an intense night of fights over the weekend. The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion headed to Perth, Western Australia to offer fight fans the highly anticipated card of UFC 221.
UFC 221 featured a fight card full of interesting match ups, including a middleweight war in the night’s main event. Inside the Perth Arena on Feb. 10, former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold faced off against tough division contender Yoel Romero.
Romero missed weight for the match up, making the fighter ineligible for the interim title. However, Luke Rockhold still held the potential of earning the interim UFC middleweight belt.
That being said, things did not go the former champion’s way. Rockhold suffered a knockout loss to Yoel Romero in the third round.
Following the finish, Romero approached Rockhold and caressed the fighter in a show of respect and admiration. However Romero chose to show his affection a little differently than most competitors inside the octagon.
