Fight fans were privileged to an entertaining night of fights over the weekend. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Perth, Western Australia for the event, hosting UFC 221 for the Perth crowd and for fight fans tuning in world wide through the live pay-per-view.
A heavyweight war took place on the night’s fight card, as Cyril Asker and Tai Tuivasa went toe-to-toe for division dominance. The fight did not last long, as Tuivasa earned a TKO victory over his opponent within the first round.
Tuivasa rocked Asker with a brutal elbow followed by a push that sent the fighter stumbling. Asker crashed into the fence and slammed down hard on the mat. Asker face planted on the canvas, causing the referee to call a stop to the contest.
