UFC welterweight Mike Perry suffered a unanimous decision loss over the weekend. Shortly after, fellow fighter Colby Covington sent an antagonizing message over social media concerning Perry’s girlfriend Danielle Nickerson.
Shortly after Perry was defeated by Max Griffin at UFC on FOX 28, UFC welterweight Colby Covington referred to Perry’s significant other as “horse faced.”

Mike Perry would later respond to Covington, offering a criticism for the fighter.

Beyond that, Danielle Nickerson has come under pressure from fight fans for her corner advice to Perry during the recent event. Nickerson could be heard yelling to Perry advice such as “break his leg,” creating some criticism from fans.
Following the backlash of UFC on FOX 28 from fans and a fighter alike, Danielle Nickerson has decided to break her silence with a message over social media. Despite the backlash, Nickerson has decide to take the high road and offer a grandly classy statement to the world. Taking to Instagram, Nickerson stated:
“The fight game is a tough one, but you are relentless and can achieve whatever you put your mind to. In order to perform on the highest level everything must fall in place and last night some things didn’t. No matter the outcome I will always be proud of you and believe in your abilities, and you will forever be my favorite fighter. You have been given a divine talent that I know you won’t let go to waste. Next ones the best one @platinummikeperry love you”
