Near Dallas, Texas, Mack Beggs attends Euless Trinity High School as a senior. The 18-year-old first made headlines when the individual decided to join the school’s wrestling team.
Beggs is in the process of transitioning from female to male. As a result, Beggs takes low doses of testosterone. While taking the steroid therapy, Beggs caused some controversy for wrestling girls. The wrestler managed to elude a lawsuit that attempted to keep Beggs from competing in the 2017 championship, in which Beggs would go on to win.
This year, as reported by the Washington Times, Beggs made his way to the championship finals with an undefeated record of 32-0. In the end, the wrestler locked down another championship victory.
Beggs has voiced an interest in competing on the boys’ team on multiple occasions. However, Texas public high schools require that students compete within the gender labeled on their birth certificates.
Now Beggs is a two time consecutive champion of the Texas girls’ Class 6A 110-pound division.
