The Tweet That Set D.C. Off — Jon Jones’ Most Brutal Tweet & Delete Of All Time

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former title holder Jon Jones have formed quite the rivalry over the years. The two first faced off at UFC 182, with Jones dealing Cormier his only professional loss with a unanimous decision victory.

Jones and Cormier were then set to face off again, but would not do so until multiple re-bookings. Cormier pulled out of their rematch set for UFC 197, citing an injury. The two were then set to face off at UFC 200, but Jones was pulled from the fight due to a failed drug test.

Finally, Cormier and Jones had their long awaited rematch in 2017. The two headlined UFC 214 in a highly anticipated octagon war. While Jones earned a finish over Cormier, the victory was short lived.

Jones would later be stripped of his title, Cormier would be reinstated as champion and the loss would be overturned to a no contest. Jon Jones failed his drug test for UFC 214.

During their lengthy and heated rivalry, Jones and Cormier often went back and forth over social media with some serious trash-talk. One message that has lived on is an Instagram post published by Jon Jones.

Jones would go on to delete the message, but fight fans have since screen capped and shared the Instagram post many times over. In the message, Jones highlights Daniel Cormier’s fat within a photo, much to the ire of the champion.
