Anthony Joshua Delivers On Hype, Becomes First Man To Defeat Joseph Parker In Tonight’s Main Event

Today, Boxing returned to center stage with the highly anticipated return of Boxing heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.

Josua took on the unbeaten Joseph Parker in the Showtime Boxing main event. Both men entered the ring undefeated, Joshua winning all his bouts by knockout.

Today’s main event was scheduled for 12 rounds.

In the first round, both fighters did little, mostly feeling out each other.

By round 3, it was clear Joshua had the heavy advantage in the bout.

Round 4, was once again all Joshua, but Parker had a resurgence in round 5, as he got more aggressive, started putting together combinations and landing solid punches.

In round 6, it was more aggression from Parker, which likely scored him the wins in rounds 5 and 6.

Round 7 was a close round, but round 8 was all Joshua, who found his mark on some really solid shots.

Through round 11, the writing was on the wall. And while Parker was able to absorb all of Joshua’s power shots, it’s been Joshua who was able to dictate the pace, behind an effective jab to control the majority of the fight’s action.

In the final round, Joshua was unable to put Parker away, and goes to decision for the first time in his career.

Official result: Anthony Joshua def. Joseph Parker via unanimous decision (118-110, 118-110, 119-109)
