They said Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather would never happen in a million years, and despite those odds, the boxing match took place and broke global records.
Now, pundits will have you believing that Floyd Mayweather taking an MMA fight in the UFC can’t happen either. But, when there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Floyd Mayweather first revealed earlier this year that he had a Billion Dollar offer from the UFC to make the jump. The retired boxer then sent out a series of videos teasing that he was going to enter MMA.
As recently as last week, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley revealed that he is indeed training Mayweather for an MMA debut.
And now, Floyd himself admits that he’s going to submit his application for a license to fight in MMA.
As it looks right now, all signs point to Floyd Mayweather making a move to Mixed Martial Arts.
In a new interview Floyd stated, ‘Everything takes time. Eventually, we’re gonna apply for the license, and hopefully we can fight,’ Mayweather said.
‘Even if it takes 6 to 8 months — whatever it takes. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly, and everything is done the right way.
Of course, the fight to watch for is McGregor vs. Floyd II, inside the UFC. However, not many people give Floyd a chance at dethroning the champ champ inside the UFC.
Stay tuned.
