Conor McGregor Just Blasted Frankie Edgar, And His Skills, At Today’s UFC 222 Open Workouts

UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor recently made it clear that he wanted to fight Frankie Edgar in this weekend’s UFC 222 main event.

McGregor released a statement stating that he asked for the fight when Max Holloway pulled out.

I am fighting again. Period.

I am the best at this.

I put my name forward to step in at UFC 222 to face Frankie Edgar when Max Holloway pulled out, but I was told there wasn’t enough time to generate the money that the UFC would need.

I was excited about bouncing in last minute and taking out the final featherweight, without all the rest of the stuff that comes with this game.

Please respect the insane amount of work outside the fight game that I have put in.

On top of the fighting.

I am here.

It is on them to come and get me. Because I am here.

Yours sincerely,

The Champ Champ™

In response to this statement, Frankie Edgar recently said, “I found that news when I read the headline. Unless the UFC didn’t tell me, I don’t know if it’s true. Of course I would’ve been game to fight him, but I’m fighting a guy who fights in the UFC currently. Brian Ortega, the number three guy in the world and that’s my focus. Four weeks ago when I didn’t have an opponent, Conor was nowhere to be found. But like I said, I’m not worried about him, not worried about (Max) Holloway, I’m worried about Brian Ortega.”

This has now prompted McGregor to continue the war of words, targeting Frankie Edgar after witnessing today’s UFC 222 open workout.

In a response to an Ariel Helwani tweet Conor McGregor said, “You are all handy bread.”
