Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar suffered the first stoppage loss of his career over the weekend. Now UFC superstar Conor McGregor has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted UFC 222 over the weekend. The exciting night of fights took place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on Saturday night, March 3.
Co-headlining the night’s event, Frankie “The Answer” Edgar went toe-to-toe with undefeated competitor Brian Ortega in an octagon war for the Las Vegas crowd. Prior to UFC 222, Edgar had never been finished in his UFC career.
However, Ortega managed to take the former champion out for a knockout victory within the first round. Now “Notorious” has taken to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the matter.
“Frankie’s career deserved for that to be against me tonight.
Respect Frankie. Love and respect always! A true fighters fighter”
