Women’s UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg and UFC President Dana White have not had the best of relationships as of late. With that in mind, it would appear that the two individuals have put the worst behind them.
Cyborg and White have been going at it for some time now. Dana White has referenced Cyborg as looking “like Wanderlei Silva in a dress and heels” in the past, causing much controversy. Beyond that, the UFC president would later admit to the UFC having mismanaged their promotion and general management of Cris Cyborg.
With all of that in mind, the two appear to have squashed their heated grudges following the recent UFC 222 event. Speaking to reporters after her latest title defense, Cyborg stated “I just shook Dana White’s hand and said ‘we are friends now.'”
Speaking at the UFC 222 Post-Fight Press Conference, Dana White confirmed things are now fine between the two. When asked about his relationship with Cyborg, the UFC president responded “Yeah, her and I are in a good position, a very good position relationship wise. She’s a beast.”
