The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Orlando, Fla. for UFC on FOX 28, offering fight fans a series of exciting match ups. Among them, Jeremy Stephens faced off against Josh Emmett in what would become a controversial finish.
UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was cage side for the event, offering color commentating for the exciting series of octagon performances. Appearing on UFC Tonight alongside Jeremy Stephens, Cormier and Stephens decided to argue their points about the fight’s controversial moment.
In the second round, Stephens managed to rock his opponent with a combination of hooks. Emmett went to the canvas, with Stephens following up with a series of elbows and a knee to the head that have since come under criticism.
The strikes to Emmett’s head have been criticized as allegedly illegal blows, though Emmett officially earned a knockout victory over his opponent for the performance. Daniel Cormier, on the other hand, believes that the knee to Emmett’s head may have been an illegal blow to a downed opponent.
