Undefeated mixed martial arts phenom Brian Ortega shocked the world over the weekend. The fighter finished a veteran MMA warrior and former champion that had never suffered a knockout in his career. Now corner footage from the intense moment has made its way to the internet.
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar was initially set to face of against UFC featherweight title holder Max Holloway at UFC 222 in a war for the belt. However, Holloway was forced to pull out of the event after suffering an injury.
Consequently, “The Answer” went toe-to-toe with Brian Ortega for the night’s co-main event. The fight did not last long, as Ortega managed to put the former champion away within the first round.
Edgar had never been finished in his UFC career leading up to UFC 222. Still, Ortega earned a knockout victory over the fighter in a stunning performance. Now footage of Brian Ortega’s corner offering the fighter advice during the knockout display can be seen within the video above.
The fighter’s coaches can be heard excitedly yelling, “f**k him up” and “oh, sh*t” during the moment.
