Undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. stole the attention of the mixed martial arts world when he earned a TKO finish over UFC superstar Conor McGregor inside the squared circle. Now the pugilist phenom is voicing an interest in making a run inside the octagon.
“Notorious” has not competed inside the octagon since earning his UFC lightweight title back in 2016. That being said, the Irish native has been keeping busy in other ways.
Most recently, McGregor made his professional boxing debut inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on Aug. 26, 2017. “Money” Mayweather pulled himself out of retirement to meet the mixed martial artist inside the squared circle. Ultimately, Mayweather earned a TKO victory in the tenth round.
Before their highly anticipated match up, Mayweather and McGregor dealt each other a series of heated trash-talking exchanges that hyped their fight to massive levels. In an interview with Fight Hype, Mayweather once claimed that McGregor’s trash-talking is perceived quite differently than his own.
“They say he talk a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I’m cocky and arrogant. So biased! Like I said before, all I’m saying is this, I ain’t racist at all, but I’m telling you racism still exists.”
