Floyd Mayweather: “I Look Forward To Fighting [MMA] By The End Of The Year”

Undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. snared the attention of MMA fans when he earned a TKO victory over UFC megastar Conor McGregor back in 2017. Now the fighter is considering making a run within the sport of mixed martial arts.

“Money” Mayweather pulled himself out of retirement last year to take on Conor MCGregor inside the squared circle. The pugilist legend ultimately earned a TKO victory over “Notorious.” While Mayweather quickly slipped back into retirement, the undefeated boxer has since hinted to an interest in making a run inside the octagon.

Speaking to Fight Hype, as seen within the video below, Mayweather revealed that he has already begun training and is heavily considering the idea of making a run in MMA.

“I started training already. Not the physical part – endurance, as far as moving around. So far, I’ve started running,”

“I’m thinking about fighting in the MMA, I’ve thought about it. I started training in Miami. I look forward to fighting probably by the end of the year. We don’t know. Right now it’s a 50-50 (chance), not a hundred percent. But we’ve started training.”
