Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold suffered a tough loss over the weekend. Now the fighter has come forward to give his thoughts on his opponent’s controversial post-fight kiss.
Luke Rockhold faced off against Yoel Romero at UFC 221. Rockhold was competing for the interim UFC middleweight title, though Romero was not eligible following his missed weight for the event.
Still, Romero managed to put the former title holder away within the third round for a knockout victory. Following the fight, Romero walked up to his freshly conscious opponent and kissed him on the mouth.
Romero would later claim that he kissed Rockhold, because the fighter was on his “hit list.” Now Rockhold has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Rockhold revealed that he is not pleased with the post-fight incident.
“In that state of mind, you’re not really… you are trying to gather all of the information. For him to come across the cage like that, it’s ridiculous. For them to let him come do that… I’m not a big fan of how he carries himself.
“He’s a big fake.”
