Rising UFC knockout artist Francis Ngannou has been looking for a fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar for some time now. With that in mind, UFC veteran Matt Serra has come forward to reveal that he feels Ngannou should think twice about taking on the NCAA Division one wrestling champion.
Francis Ngannou is coming off of a tough loss to reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Ngannou earned the title shot by finishing former K-1 champion Alistair Overeem with a stunning first round knockout victory.
However, Miocic managed to put on a dominant performance in his match up against the knockout artist. Ngannou’s cardio and ability to deal with talented wrestlers inside the octagon would later come into questions, as Miocic controlled the fighter for much of their match up. The title holder ultimately earned a unanimous decision victory over Ngannou.
Speaking on the possibility of Ngannou facing off against former NCAA division one heavyweight wrestling champion Brock Lesnar, Matt Serra revealed that he believes Ngannou should stick to fellow knockout artists such as Derrick Lewis.
“I think he’s way better off with a Derrick Lewis than a Brock Lesnar.” Serra said. For the UFC veteran’s full thoughts, check out the video above.
