While undefeated pugilist legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been hinting to an interest in competing inside the octagon, one of the retired boxer’s top protege’s has come forward to reveal his drive to fight under the UFC banner.
Gervonta Davis is a boxing phenom in his own right. A former IBF junior lightweight champion, Davis has put on an illustrious career in the sport of boxing. Davis has since come under the guidance of Floyd Mayweather Jr. himself.
With that in mind, the Mayweather Promotions pugilist is now discussing the possibility of a fight inside the octagon. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Davis offered his thoughts on the matter.
“I watched some UFC fights and I liked it.” Davis said. “So, I thought maybe I can switch over.”
“If the opportunity is up for grabs, then I am definitely willing to fight anyone of them guys in my weight class.” The fighter later continued.
