One Sponsor Under Bellator Paid Rory MacDonald More Than An Entire UFC Card Under Reebok

Former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald recently made a shift from the octagon to competing promotion Bellator MMA. Now it would appear that the new Bellator welterweight champion has made quite the sum following his latest venture with the promotion.

Newly crowned Bellator welterweight champion Rory MacDonald recently landed a promotional deal with cryptocurrency organization DASH. Jeff Smith, the head of network operations for the business, recently revealed that MacDonald earned a massive $250,000 for representing the currency in his latest match up under the Bellator MMA banner.

The UFC’s fight card featured in Austin, Texas last month only totaled $165,000 for the entirety of Reebok’s outfitting payout for all fighters. It would appear that MacDonald earned a hefty sum larger with his new sponsorship deal.

MacDonald earned the Bellator welterweight title back at Bellator 192 with a unanimous decision victory. It was only the fighter’s second bout under the Bellator banner, as MacDonald defeated Paul Daley with a submission in his big debut.
