Brian Ortega shocked the world over the weekend, earning a finish over a former UFC champion. Now the time has come to take a look at a replay from the exciting moment.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 222 on Saturday night, March 3. In the night’s dazzling co-main event, undefeated mixed martial arts phenom Brian Ortega went toe-to-toe with former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
Frankie Edgar was initially set to face off against UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway at the night’s event. However, Holloway was forced to pull out of the event after suffering an injury.
Consequently, “The Answer” faced off against Ortega for the event. Prior to UFC 222, Edgar had never been finished in his career. That being said, Ortega managed to knock out Edgar within the first round of the fight.
