Woodley Name Drops Four Potential Opponents For Octagon Return

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is currently healing up from a recent shoulder injury. While the fighter is targeting a return to the sport later this summer, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is already looking to set up an interim title fight for the division.

Rafael Dos Anjos and Colby Covington are currently being targeted for a UFC 224 war for the interim title. Grant it, Tyron Woodley is not entirely in agreement with the UFC’s decision.

Speaking to Forbes, Woodley revealed that there are four possible fighters for his to face when he returns. To the champion, an interim title fight is perhaps not a necesssity to see that happen.

“I could fight (Rafael Dos Anjos), I could fight Colby (Covington), I could fight (Kamaru) Usman, I could fight Darren Till. It’s a good time for the sport because I’ve got the red dot on me, but to be honest, I don’t think any of these guys want to see me. I’ve already beat the toughest guys in the division. I’m the champion for a reason. I got here the old school way.”
