Mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA was in Rosemont, Illinois over the weekend for the promotion’s latest fight night. This time around, the organization hosted the highly anticipated fight card of Bellator 198 inside the city’s Allstate Center.
Headlining the night’s card, MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko went toe-to-toe with former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. “The Last Emperor” made short work of the former title holder, ultimately earning a knockout victory within the first round.
Emelianenko is now set to face off against Chael Sonnen in the semi-finals of Bellator’s heavyweight grand prix, which is set to crown the promotion’s heavyweight champion.
Sonnen made an appearance inside the cage to meet Emelianenko face-to-face directly after the fighter’s big win. During the mean mugging, Sonnen offered some heated words to “The Last Emperor.” Sonnne’s statement can be seen in the video above.
