Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s potential octagon return has been a swirling rumor for some time now. UFC President Dana White has even claimed that there is a possibility that the former title holder would get an immediate shot at the winner between reigning champion Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.
Meanwhile, tough contender Derrick Lewis will be taking on No. 1 contender Francis Ngannou at UFC 226. Speaking to MMA Junkie, Lewis explained that if Lesnar was granted an immediate title shot it wouldn’t bother him in the slightest.
“I don’t really care about some damn title. They talking about having Brock Lesnar coming in and fighting the winner out of ‘DC’ and Stipe. It doesn’t piss me off one bit because I’m not in this thing to fight for the belt anyway. I’m in it to fight for the money.”
“I know how I can win the bonus checks. I try to make it a close fight and then I try to go ahead and turn it up towards the end. But for this fight against Francis, I know I’m going to have to come out hard and swinging and do whatever I need to do to win this fight.”
