Another exciting night of fights went down inside the octagon on Saturday night, April 7. Now the event’s defeated co-headliner has decided to come forward with a statement.
The highly anticipated fight card of UFC 223 went down inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday night. In the night’s co-main event, former women’s UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk went toe-to-toe with reigning title holder Rose Namajunas.
Namajunas earned a first round TKO victory in their first match up at UFC 217, putting an end to Jedrzejczyk’s undefeated 14-0 streak. At UFC 223, Namajunas managed to defend her title in an immediate rematch with the former champion.
The fight ultimately went the distance, with Namajunas earning a unanimous decision victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Speaking at the UFC 223 Post-Fight Press Conference, Jedrzejczyk revealed that she still believes she won the fight.
It would appear that Jedrzejczyk is not quite ready to accept Namajunas’ title reign just yet.
