Formerly dominant women’s UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is now coming off of the second consecutive loss of her mixed martial arts career. This time around, the fighter is blaming the loss on her judges’ scorecards.
Rose Namajunas shocked the world when she finished formerly undefeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the title back at UFC 217. Namajunas managed to put the 14-0 fighter away within the first round for a TKO victory.
Following the fight, Jedrzejczyk would go on to blame her nutritionist team for much of her shortcomings in the fight, as the former title holder seemingly had a difficult weight cut. Jedrzejczyk would later fire the nutritionist team over the matter.
In their immediate rematch at UFC 223, the two fighters went the distance. This time around, Rose Namajunas earned a unanimous decision victory over her opponent.
Speaking to polsatsport.pl, Jedrzejczyk has now decided to blame her recent loss on the judges’ scoring of the match. The fighter claimed “Even Rose’s coach said after the verdict that I won that fight.”
Jedrzejczyk also stated that UFC President Dana White was “disgusted” by the decision.
“Numbers don’t lie.” She said. “Commission in New York is very young. They are still learing how to score fights. Dana White was also a little bit disgusted by the scoring.”
