The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) suffered a big loss to one of the promotion’s upcoming fight cards when Matt Brown revealed that he was too injured to compete. Now UFC knockout artist Mike Perry has come forward to explain why he can not fill the empty main card match up.
UFC on FOX 29 is going down April 14 in Glendale, Arizona. The fight card features a collection of entertaining match ups, but the event recently lost the night’s co-headliner.
Mixed martial arts veterans Carlos Condit and Matt Brown were initially set to throw down inside the octagon for the Glendale crowd. However, Brown has since been pulled from the match up due to a torn ACL.
Now UFC knockout artist Mike Perry has taken to Twitter to reveal why he would like to face Condit at the event, but is currently incapable of doing so.
“Would love to fight @CarlosCondit however on short notice after taking a month off (longest break of my life) still recouping my foot and being pretty heavy right now it just isn’t in the cards. Thanks for thinking of me.”

While Mike Perry may be incapable of taking up Brown’s spot, Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira has reportedly made a verbal agreement to face Condit in the night’s event. However, a contractual agreement has yet to be reached between the fighters.
