UFC superstar Nate Diaz has decided to come forward with his opinion concerning the recent incident involving heated rival Conor McGregor. This time around, the Stockton native has decided to take McGregor’s side.
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and a large group of the fighter’s entourage allegedly attacked a bus filled with fighters set to compete at Saturday’s UFC 223 event. The incident occurred on Thursday during the UFC 223 Media Day within the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Multiple fighters were hurt during the fracas, leading to Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg each being pulled from their upcoming bouts. Conor McGregor later turned himself in to local police and is now facing misdemeanor assault charges and a felony charge of criminal mischief.
The attack has reportedly been linked to undefeated UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov’s recent altercation with SBG Ireland’s Artem Lobov in a hotel room just days before. Lobov is a teammate and friend to Conor McGregor, potentially leading McGregor to retaliate in force.
Taking to Twitter, Nate Diaz has decided to let his thoughts on the situation be known.
“He shouldn’t have been trying to punk his boy when he was alone, like a bully. Then he expects not to get rolled on fukn rookie..
And then stay on the bus haha u guys got punked ….”
