Retired boxing phenom Paul Malignaggi has come forward with his own thoughts concerning the recent drug test failure from Canelo Alvarez. Malinganni says he’s “not buying it.”
Canelo Alvarez and boxing champion Gennady Golovkin first faced off back in 2017. The match ultimately reached a highly controversial draw decision, leaving many fight fans hopeful for a rematch.
The pugilists were then locked down for a rematch on May 5 inside the same T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. However, Alvarez has since failed a drug test.
Alvarez claims the failed drug test occurred due to contaminated meats. Still, the fighter has been temporarily suspended by the commission and will have to make a claim for his case in order to avoid more severe punishment.
The failed drug test has since put Alvarez’s rematch with Golovkin in jeopardy, causing many boxers and fans to outcry their opinions. Paul Malignaggi recently revealed that he does not believe Alvarez ate contaminated meats.
Rather, Malignaggi believes that Alvarez may have intentionally used performance enhancing drugs. Check it out below:
