Women’s UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas put on another successful octagon performance over the weekend. Following her immediate rematch with Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Namajunas has decided to offer her defeated opponent a respectful message over social media.
Namajunas earned her strawweight title back at UFC 217. Jedrzejczyk was the reigning champion at the time, having garnered a dominant record of 14-0. However, Namajunas put an end to the fighter’s undefeated streak by earning a TKO victory within the first round of their match up.
Jedrzejczyk and Namajunas had their immediate rematch in the co-main event of UFC 223 over the weekend, as the event took place Saturday night, April 7. This time, the two mixed martial artists went the distance.
In the end, Namajunas earned a unanimous decision victory over her opponent. Taking to Instagram after her successful title defense, Namajunas stated:
