UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping have not been on the best of terms. Now “The Count” has decided to fire back after Masvidal’s latest heated statement on the former title holder.
Bisping first drew the ire of Masvidal when he tore up a tiny Cuban flag cage side at Yoel Romero’s interim title fight against Robert Whittaker. Bisping was still the champion at the time and was in a heated rivalry with Romero.
Since then, Masvidal and Bisping have had a few verbal altercations when crossing paths at UFC events. Most recently, the two fights met face to face at UFC Fight Night 122 in Shanghai, China.
Speaking on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Jorge Masvidal went on to call Bisping a racist and to claim that he nearly assaulted the fighter during their confrontation.
“I was pretty close to breaking his face when we were brought out in China.” Masvidal said.
“After he got knocked out, I didn’t even want to look at the guy.” Masvidal later continued. “I’m not the type of dude to kick someone while they’re down. We’ll handle out problems later, racist piece of sh*t.”
Taking to Twitter, Bisping has now decided to offer a reaction to the recent statement. Check it out below:
