A near brawl erupted at a recent Combate Americas event on Friday night, May 11. Now it would appear that UFC superstar Nate Diaz is facing accusations of battery for the incident.
Diaz was in attendance for the event in support of teammate and UFC veteran Chris Avila. However, the fighter reportedly ended up in a scuffle with Team Alpha Male member and fellow UFC veteran Clay Guida.
As reported by MMA Fighting, Clay Guida is now accusing Nate Diaz of battery.
Sacramento sheriff spokesperson Sgt. Shaun Hampton told MMA Fighting:
“If it is found the victim was assaulted then a warrant request will be completed and submitted to the District Attorney’s office for review. The filing decision will be up to the DA.”
The case has been opened up to the sheriff’s office and a detective will be assigned to the case for investigation.
