Eddie Alvarez Turning Down Fights Until The UFC Gives Him A New Contract

Former UFC lightweight world champion Eddie Alvarez is one of the hottest commodities on the UFC’s lightweight roster.

After being out of action for sometime, Alvarez was expected to return to fighting in a highly anticipated rematch against Dustin Poirier.

The two top lightweights are both coming off big wins over Justin Gaethje, and have unfinished business to settle.

Both men also want first crack at Khabib Nurmagomedov, so running it back makes all the sense in the world, factoring how the first fight went.

Despite all this anticipation though, Alvarez only has one fight on his UFC contract, and according to Ariel Helwani, he won’t sign anything until the UFC gives him a new deal.
