Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is a living mixed martial arts legend. With that in mind, hip-hop icon Eminem has come forward with a song that touches on one of the fighter’s most infamous moments.
Anderson Silva is largely considered as one of the greatest MMA competitors of all time. The once dominant UFC champion held the highly coveted record of most consecutive title defenses for many years, before the record was broken by Demetrious Johnson.
However, Silva suffered the end of his title reign to Chris Weidman back at UFC 162. “The Spider” was knocked out within the second round.
In their rematch at UFC 168, Silva suffered an injury that will be remembered for the rest of his career. The fighter’s leg snapped at the shin, leaving Silva severely debilitated inside the octagon.
In the new single Caterpillar by Royce da 5’9 feat. Eminem and King Green, Eminem decides to give his take on the shin shattering moment.
“You’re havin’ a little trouble fathomin’ this is actually happenin’
Like Anderson Silva back when he snapped his shin in half
And then had the shit hangin’ by a flap of skin
After he tried to plant the shit back on the mat again
Pad to pen I’m batty like eyelids when they’re blinkin’ a lot
You copy me, but you’re not”
