Floyd Mayweather Just Changed His Mind On MMA Run, Reveals What’s Next

Floyd Mayweather first got the attention of the MMA community when he earned a TKO victory over UFC superstar Conor McGregor inside the squared circle back in 2017. While Mayweather quickly returned to retirement, the boxer has since been hinting to an interest in making a run within the octagon.

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley would even go on to reveal that he has been in talks with Mayweather and is set to coach the pugilist legend in the sport of mixed martial arts. As previously reported, Woodley recently claimed that he and Mayweather were set to begin training as early as next week.

“Yeah, I’m training Floyd. I just talked to Floyd. He was in Singapore (and) somewhere else. I just talked to him a couple of days ago. So when he gets back in town next week, me and him are going to start training.”

Since then, however, Mayweather has come forward to claim that he has been forced to momentarily abandon his training in order to further promote the boxers under Mayweather Promotions.

“I started training and then I had to start focusing back on promoting these fighters, because I want these fighters to surpass me.” Mayweather said. For the former boxer’s full thoughts on the matter, check out the video above.
