In the latter part of MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko’s career he’s made a reputation for himself of defeating former UFC heavyweight champions.
And despite his several losses stateside, when Fedor is put against a former UFC champion he’s performed marvelously.
Fedor has defeated the likes of Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, and now Frank Mir.
Mir though, has just broken his silence on Saturday’s first round knockout loss, and he’s blaming a couple of factors.
First Mir points out his two-year absence from competition, and confirms that “ring rust” is a real thing that impacted his performance.
Then the former UFC champion reveals that when Fedor judo tossed him to the mat, he got very angry, lost focus and eventually got caught, losing the fight.
