Gastelum And Jacare Put On Fight Of The Year Contender, Kelvin Lands Huge Win In Rio

Fight fans are flooding into the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil tonight, May 12, for the latest fight card from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Now the night’s stunning co-headliner is making its way to the octagon.

This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is hosting the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 224 for fight fans worldwide. In the night’s live pay-per-view co-headliner, middleweight Kelvin Gastelum is facing off against Jacare Souza in a battle for division supremacy.

Souza opened up the first round with a furry, quickly going for a takedown against his opponent. After getting his opponent to the canvas, Souza began advancing on Gastelum with a series of submission attempts.

However, Gastelum managed to fend off the fighter until the sound of the bell.

Gastelum clipped Souza with some tough shots early in the second round, cutting the fighter above his eye. Then Gastelum managed to rock his opponent with a right hand, sending Souza to the canvas.

Back on his feet, Souza retaliated with a series of powerful shots of his own. The two mixed martial artists had the Rio de Janeiro crowd on their feet.

The final round featured another all out war. However, both fighters appeared gassed from their two rounds of back and forth exchanges.
