Former two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre has faced off against some seriously tough opponents through the years. Now the fighter has come forward with his thoughts on former opponent Nick Diaz and how he believes the Stockton native would fair against the reigning UFC welterweight champion.
Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz went toe-to-toe back at UFC 158, with the fight ultimately going the distance. In the end, St-Pierre managed to walk away with a unanimous decision victory over his opponent.
Speaking with longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, St-Pierre revealed that he believes Nick Diaz would be a great match up for reigning UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
“People might think I’m crazy, but stylistically I think he can beat Tyron Woodley.” St-Pierre said. “I think he can. He’s the kind of guy that keeps coming at you and he’s good at taking shots, surviving and keep coming at you.”
“I remember when I fought him, it got terrifying because you got tired and this guy keep coming at you and he make you feel like you are claustrophobic.”
