It would appear that former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has once again injured his knee. The fighter’s chance of making his big debut at UFC 227 has been seemingly lost.
While it was not officially announced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), UFC President Dana White recently claimed that Luke Rockhold was set to make his light heavyweight debut against former title challenger Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 227. The live pay-per-view event goes down Aug. 4 inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
However, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani has since reported that Luke Rockhold has once again injured his knee. Helwani’s original report and NSFW videos of the fighter’s medical procedure can be seen below:
“Luke Rockhold reinjured his leg in training late last week and is now definitely not fighting Alexander Gustafsson this summer. I’m told he’s hoping to return in October, at the earliest. Here’s a video he provided to me of his shin getting stitched up. (Warning: GRAPHIC)”

“And if that video wasn’t enough for you, here’s another of the stitching.”
