Mixed martial arts veteran Vitor Belfort made his final octagon performance over the weekend. Following the fighter’s tough knockout loss, Belfort has come forward with a few words.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday, May 12, to host the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 224. Featured on the night’s live pay-per-view, Belfort went toe-to-toe with fellow former champion and mixed martial arts veteran Lyoto Machida.
Machida made short work of his opponent, ultimately earning a devastating front kick knockout victory over Belfort. The finish was strikingly similar to Anderson Silva’s famous front kick knockout of Belfort from UFC 126.
Taking to Instagram, Belfort has decided to offer his thoughts on the matter. Check it out below:
“Who said a lightning doesn’t strike at the same place twice… All my respect to @lyotomachidafw”
