The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil over the weekend. On Saturday, May 12, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion hosted the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 224.
Featured on the night’s live pay-per-view main card, Vitor Belfort faced off against fellow former title holder and Brazilian MMA legend Lyoto Machida. However, the fight did not go Belfort’s way.
Machida managed to finish his opponent with a devastating front kick knockout that was reminiscent of Anderson Silva’s past knockout finish over Belfort. After the fight, Belfort took off his gloves and laid them in the center of the octagon.
