Not one to pass up on an opportunity, former two time UFC title challenger Alexander Gustafsson says he’s on deck in the event either D.C. or Miocic get injured ahead of their UFC 226 main event title fight.
Gustafsson made this revelation in an interview with the Swedish Media stating, “I step in if DC hurts, I step in if Stipe is injured, I’m in heavy weight, no strange things. I’m willing to step in the same day.”
In the interview, Gustafsson confirmed that the UFC is “leaning in” on this option as well.
Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic is set to headline UFC 226 in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view event is set to go down on July 7.
