UFC welterweight Donald Cerrone suffered a loss inside the octagon over the weekend. However, the fighter now has a new challenge ahead of him. “Cowboy” has to get home as quickly as possible.
Fight fans poured into the Singapore Indoor Arena in Singapore on Saturday, June 23, for the highly anticipated fight card of UFC Fight Night 132. Headlining the night’s event, Donald Cerrone went toe-to-toe with Leon Edwards.
The two fighters ultimately went all five rounds, with Edwards earning a unanimous decision victory in the end. In his post-fight interview, Donald Cerrone revealed that he has been battling a sickness that left the fighter bed ridden for most of fight day.
The fighter reportedly nearing called in to UFC President Dana White to cancel the fight due to his sickness, but decided at the last minute to tough out the debilitating condition. Cerrone’s fiancée, however, is currently pregnant and is ready to give birth any hour now.
With Cerrone in Singapore and his wife in and out of the hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the MMA veteran has a 30-hour journey ahead of him to make it to his pregnant fiancée before she gives birth to their first born child.
