Colby Covington put on a victorious performance for the UFC interim welterweight title over the weekend. Now it would appear that son of United States President Donald Trump has decided to comment on the matter.
UFC 225 went down inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, June 9, offering fight fans a series of exciting match ups. Co-headlining the night’s event, Colby Covington faced off against former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in a battle for the interim welterweight title.
The two mixed martial artists ultimately went the distance, with Covington earning a unanimous decision victory for the title. Both before and after earning the belt, Covington has been campaigning to take the title to the White House. The newly crowned champion wants to place the belt on Pres. Donald Trump’s desk.
UFC President Dana White even later revealed during the UFC 225 Post-Fight Press Conference that he could “make that happen,” as White and Donald Trump have been friends for many years. Taking to Instagram, bowhunter Cameron Hanes later posted a picture alongside Colby Covington.
Within the comments, Donald Trump Jr. offered a message of his own. The U.S. President’s son stated “Awesome. Well done.”
