Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is set to face off against Michael Chiesa on the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 226. With that in mind, head coach Duke Roufus has now come forward to greatly praise the former title holder for his efforts in the gym as of late.
UFC 226 goes down July 7 from inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The event will be featured live on pay-per-view.
Speaking to MMA Junkie Radio, Roufus revealed that he believes fight fans will see a newly energized Anthony Pettis come fight night.
“This year, Anthony’s learned more about fighting, being a veteran, being a master, and focusing. These six months has been more legendary than (the last three years). He’s made up for lost time, and I’m expecting a special Anthony Pettis to show up on July 7th.”
